August 14 update

This week seems a little boring and uneventful, because in some ways, it seemed like we “just worked,” but I am grateful for fresh produce to put away for winter, and time spent with my family.  I am always amazed how God is always faithful in providing time and energy for what He asks us to do.  On Monday night, we broke from our regular routine Bible Study to spend some extended time alone with God, then got back together for “debriefing,” a term we learned at LTO in New York City.  We love our young adults!  Today they went to Keosauqua State Park in Cantril, IA to go hiking after fellowship meal.

Friday eve, our family (minus Jim) enjoyed a night of games with a homeschool family in the next town.  They share a lot of our convictions, and they have GIRLS (which seem to be in short supply in our circle)!  Yay!  Hopefully we can get together more often.

Prayer requests for this week—we get together Wed. night to “reorganize” for another year.  We want the Lord to direct the right people/giftings to the right tasks and help us to know what things are His priorities in the coming year.  Pray for Jim, who will be preaching next week, and pray for a young man who will take a step of faith and join our church next Sunday.  Also pray for our children—we’ve been working on reducing sibling rivalry.  (Any suggestions you have would also be appreciated!) Love to you all, and have a good week!
